How Siri can maximize your iPhone music experience

Siri, the iPhone's built-in virtual assistant, can help you out in a number of ways, from dialing numbers to giving you a weather report to reading out your text messages.
But she can also assist you when you're listening to music. There are a few simple commands you can learn that will help you control your playlist via your voice, which is especially useful if you want to go hands-free in the car
Look through our Siri command suggestions for playing music below.

To go hands-free with your iPhone, you need to enable the "Hey Siri" functionality. Go to your Settings menu, select "General" and then tap on the options for Siri. From here you can toggle the button to allow the "Hey Siri" command.

This means that when your iPhone is connected to a power source, you can activate Siri by saying, "Hey Siri." This is essential if you're in the car. Alternatively, you can still press and hold the home button to wake up Siri.

Using Siri to play music is simple and intuitive. You can ask Siri to play a track, album, artist or genre.
For example, you could say, "Siri, play 'Tears in Heaven,'" "Siri, play the album Unplugged," "Siri play Eric Clapton" or "Siri play some blues music."

You can also ask Siri to play an album shuffled by saying, "Siri, play the album Unplugged, shuffled." If you have playlists set up, you can ask Siri to play those by name.
As far as controlling your music goes, the commands are what you'd expect. You can ask Siri to stop and pause music, resume playing music, skip a track, go to next track, and play previous track.

If you just want a selection of tunes, you can ask Siri to play random music. Then, if a song comes on that you don't know, you can ask Siri what music is playing.
