Apple and Twitter report earnings - 5 things to watch in the week ahead

Apple will grab the headlines again this week along with Kraft, Chevron and Berkshire Hathaway.

Hello friends,
More tech earnings are on the way this week beginning Monday with Apple  AAPL 0.52% , just days after making its highly-anticipated Watch available. Twitter  TWTR -1.19% , GoPro  GPRO -2.93% , LinkedIn  LNKD 1.84%  and Yelp  YELP 0.58%  also report this coming week, along with other important companies like Ford  F 0.06% , AMC  AMC -0.30% , JetBlue  JBLU 0.71%  and Visa  V -0.35% .
Here’s what to watch for in the week ahead.
1. Apple reports earnings
Apple reports its second quarter earnings Monday, with the usual attention to iPhone sales, particularly in China. “We believe Apple’s iPhone results within China represent the most significant swing factor in upside for the March quarter,” said Stifel’s Aaron Rakers in an interview with MarketWatch. Investors will also be listening for any mention about sales or pre-orders of the new Apple Watch, which marks the first entirely new product category for the company under CEO Tim Cook.
2. Other tech earnings
After kicking off last week, tech earnings continue with more big companies reporting after Apple gets things started. Twitter and GoPro report Tuesday followed by Yelp on Wednesday and then LinkedIn on Thursday. In February, Twitter reported quarterly earnings per share of 12 cents versus 2 cents the year earlier with revenue just about doubling to $479 million from $243 million the year before. “We closed out the year with our business advancing at a great pace,” according to Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, who spoke with Fortune recently at the Great Place to Work annual conference in Dallas, Texas.
3. Food industry companies grab a slice of the action, too
The week isn’t just about tech earnings. A few companies in the food industry are also going to grab headlines. Kraft, the maker of the macaroni and cheese that will be sold without artificial coloring, reports Tuesday. On Wednesday, watch for Mondelez  MDLZ 0.03% , the maker of Oreos, along with sandwich chain Panera  PNRA 0.91% .
4. Miscellaneous earnings to watch
And if tech and food companies aren’t of interest – and even if they are – those big names aren’t the only ones to report. Check out JetBlue reporting on Tuesday, Time Warner on Wednesday, Exxon-Mobil  XOM -0.65%  and Visa on Thursday, and Chevron  CVX -0.09%  and CVS  CVS 0.69%  on Friday.
5. The Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting and more
Earnings aside, the week ahead also sees the start of the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting on Saturday. An expected 40,000 people will get together for what will be CEO Warren Buffett’s 50th year at the helm. C
