Samsung working on dual camera setup for its next flagship

With the Galaxy S6, Samsung has managed to squeeze in a very efficient 16 Megapixel sensor that is claimed to be at par with the latest iPhones as a good point-and-shoot camera. The South Korean giant is not willing to stop there. According to a report by Fonearena, the company is testing a new camera module.
The report suggests that Samsung will be including a dual camera in its next flagship phone. As they are still trying to finalise the module we cannot be sure if the new technology will be incorporated in the upcoming Note 5.
With the use of a dual camera, the resulting pictures can have a greater DSLR-like depth or it can stich the images clicked by both the cameras to give out a more detailed and pixel rich image. We reported about a startup called Light that is also working on a similar module. The company claimed that they will be able to produce 51 Megapixel equivalent pictures using various camera modules and at the same time not increase the thickness of the phone. The company has estimated to launch its new camera by the end of 2016.

Samsung will not be the first smartphone to use dual cameras, the HTC One and the latest Huawei Honor 6 Plus have also used a dual camera in the rear panel but they failed to produce distinctive results. Samsung will have to introduce something new to the existing setup.
