Microsoft has put the Windows 10 Preview update on hold due to some bricking issues in many devices. It is said that Microsoft Lumia 520 and 525 are the weakest phones among the Windows Phone 8 gang that face some problems while updating to latest Windows version.
GSM Arena reported once some users updated their phones to latest windows update problems arose when they tried to roll back to Windows Phone 8.1. Though, Microsoft has already released a dedicated Windows Phone Recovery Tool to save bricked smartphones, it doesn't resolve the bricked Lumia 5 series.
To deal with this, Microsoft has come up with an updated recovery tool to help recovering the Lumia 5 series device like 520, 521, 525.
However, the company doesn't promise this updated tool will fix all bricked Lumia phones, but added it should work in most cases of a red Nokia logo and with the black screen issues.
The users who didn't want to stick with the Windows 10 Preview got their phones bricked after trying to revert to Windows Phone 8.1. Many devices stopped on a Nokia logo while others have got blank or dead screens.
Microsoft has stated that the major issue was with the data writing size and speed.
Microsoft is reportedly working on the issue to bring all the bricked Lumia smartphones back. The updated Windows Phone Recovery Tool version is 1.2.4 and is available for download.
