HTC One M9, the current flagship smartphone of the Taiwanese tech company, has began rolling out to retail markets this month following its official launch during the Mobile World Congress Just like the HTC One M8 last year, the HTC One M9 was unravelled to a lot of favorable reviews among its niche users.
It also features a 20-megapixel image sensor manufactured by Toshiba but does not offer class-leading dynamic range. And dynamic range is not something that asoftware update may be able to fix since it is more of a hardware issue. It is not clear how the software update will improve the camera of the HTC One M9 but it is unlikely that it would make groundbreaking improvements to it.(MWC) 2015 event held inBarcelona, Spain last month.
The only negative comment about it thus far is that its camera hardly offers any improvement from the HTC OneM8 last year.
Unaffected
Early this week, reports also came out that an independent test conducted by a phone warranty provider saw that the HTC One M9 is the most bendable when compared to the latestflagship smartphones of Apple and Samsung when subjected to a certain amount of pressure.
But unlike Samsung who decided to contend the results of the supposed bending test by the phone warranty provider, HTC would rather focus on something that it has control of in its smartphone and not those from outside elements.
While it was unaffected by the supposed bending test results, HTC is concerned on the criticisms about the camera of its latest flagship smartphone. Thus, the company promised to do something about it.
Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC America, disclosed that a software updatewill be rolled out to HTC One M9 anytime from April 10 to 17 to fix the camera issues of its latest handset.
The software update will be initially released to HTC One M9 smartphones in the US but it is likely that the firmware upgrade would eventually make it to the handsets in other countries, notes India Today Tech.
Improving an average camera
When it was launched last year, the HTC One M8 was regarded as a complete package but its only drawback was its average camera. Apparently, the HTC One M9 went through the same development too. It underwent a major upgrading but somehow forgot to improve the camera.
The HTC One M9 features the Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and has the distinctive top-and-tail stereo front speakers that deliver superb sound quality for a smartphone, due to its BoomSound. The device also supportsDolby Audio too. The battery life of the HTC One M9 is similar to the HTC One M8 although it drains rather quickly if users browse the web.
